Share Visa has appointed Suresh Sethi as Group Country Manager for India and South Asia, effective April 27, 2026, marking a key leadership transition as the company strengthens its regional growth strategy. Sethi succeeds Sandeep Ghosh, who has exited the organisation after more than four years. The appointment comes at a time when Visa is intensifying its focus on expanding digital payments adoption across one of its fastest-growing markets. He joins Visa after serving as CEO of Protean eGov Technologies, bringing nearly three decades of leadership experience across corporate banking, retail financial services, mobile money, and government technology initiatives. Sethi began his career at Citigroup, where he spent over a decade working across multiple geographies including India, Africa, South America, and the United States, primarily in transaction banking. His cross-sector and international experience is expected to support Visa’s efforts in navigating an increasingly dynamic and competitive payments landscape. The leadership move aligns with Visa’s strategy to deepen partnerships and accelerate digital transaction adoption across India and South Asia. The region continues to witness rapid growth in digital payments, driven by fintech innovation, rising consumer adoption, and supportive regulatory frameworks. As competition intensifies with the entry of new fintech players and evolving consumer behaviour, the role of leadership becomes critical in shaping growth strategies and strengthening ecosystem collaborations. Sethi’s mandate will focus on expanding Visa’s market presence, building stronger partnerships across the payments ecosystem, and aligning regional priorities with global business objectives. His appointment underscores the importance of experienced leadership in driving sustained growth in a rapidly evolving digital payments environment.
