Share Britannia Industries has appointed Srinivas Maruthi Patnam as Vice President – Human Resources, marking a key leadership transition in its HR function. The appointment follows the resignation of Ritesh Rana, who will step down from his role effective May 15, 2026, to pursue opportunities outside the organisation. According to the company’s regulatory filing, Patnam will join as VP- HR (Designate) on April 21, 2026, and assume full responsibilities from May 16. His appointment was approved by the Board of Directors based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. Rana’s tenure at Britannia, which began in 2012, included significant contributions to talent management and organisational development, helping strengthen the company’s people agenda over the years. Patnam brings over 26 years of experience in human resources leadership across global organisations. Prior to joining Britannia, he served as Vice President and HR Head for India at Procter & Gamble, where he led large-scale HR transformation and capability-building initiatives. His experience spans multiple geographies, including India, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia and New Zealand, Singapore, and Southeast Asia, along with global mandates across the Middle East, Africa, Japan, and Korea. He has also worked with Gillette, gaining extensive exposure to the FMCG and consumer healthcare sectors. Patnam’s appointment comes at a time when FMCG companies are increasingly focusing on strengthening organisational capability, leadership pipelines, and workforce agility to navigate evolving consumer demand and competitive market dynamics. With his global experience and track record in HR transformation, Patnam is expected to play a key role in shaping Britannia’s people strategy and supporting its next phase of growth.
