Alongside the HR transition, the company has also appointed Ranjan Kumar as Company Secretary. Nambiar brings close to 30 years of HR leadership experience within the Tata Group, having spent the majority of his career at Tata Consultancy Services across several strategic and international roles. Most recently, he served as Vice President and Head of HR for Geographies and Corporate Functions at TCS, where he led enterprise-wide HR initiatives focused on workforce transformation, leadership capability development, hybrid workplace models, and global people strategy execution. Prior to that, he headed HR for service lines and corporate functions at TCS, playing a key role in organisational transformation programmes during a period of accelerated digital adoption and changing workforce dynamics. Over the years, Nambiar has also held multiple global HR leadership assignments across Europe and North America. His earlier responsibilities included serving as Global Head of Business HR, CHRO and Director of HR for Europe based in Amsterdam, and leading talent acquisition and staffing operations for North America. During his Europe-focused tenure, he worked extensively on employee relations, organisational integration, and workforce alignment across regional markets. Nambiar began his professional journey with Tata Consultancy Services in Bengaluru after completing his Master’s degree in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from Madras School of Social Work. The appointment comes at a critical phase for the global automotive industry, as manufacturers continue to accelerate investments in electric vehicles, connected mobility, digital engineering, advanced manufacturing technologies, and future-ready workforce models. At the same time, companies are increasingly strengthening HR leadership to manage organisational transformation, leadership pipelines, and workforce capability development amid evolving business priorities. With Nambiar taking charge of the HR function, Tata Motors is expected to continue focusing on organisational resilience, digital capability building, and long-term talent strategy as it navigates the next phase of transformation in the mobility sector.
