The National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) has appointed Vikas Goel as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, ushering in a new chapter for one of India’s leading commodity exchanges. His appointment comes at a time when the exchange is focusing on expanding its product portfolio, strengthening market participation, and driving technology-led innovation across India’s commodity derivatives market.

Vikas Goel brings over 25 years of leadership experience across banking, financial services, consulting, and capital market infrastructure. Most recently, he served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of PNB Housing Finance, where he led business transformation, digital innovation, and strategic growth initiatives. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions at ICICI Bank, IDFC FIRST Bank, and McKinsey & Company, building expertise in financial markets, strategy, operations, and customer-centric transformation.

As MD & CEO, Goel will lead NCDEX’s efforts to expand the commodity derivatives ecosystem, introduce new products, deepen participation among farmers, traders, and institutional investors, and strengthen the exchange’s technology infrastructure. His leadership is expected to support NCDEX’s long-term vision of enhancing price discovery, improving risk management solutions, and increasing liquidity across agricultural and commodity markets.

The appointment reflects NCDEX’s commitment to building a stronger and more innovative commodity exchange as India’s financial markets continue to evolve. With Vikas Goel at the helm, the exchange is expected to focus on sustainable growth, digital transformation, and creating greater value for market participants while supporting the development of India’s commodity trading ecosystem.
