HSBC has announced plans to recruit more than 200 professionals in Singapore, including over 100 artificial intelligence specialists and another 100 wealth managers, as part of a major investment in AI innovation and wealth management across Asia. The hiring initiative coincides with the establishment of the bank’s first Global AI Centre of Excellence in Singapore, which is expected to begin operations in the second half of 2026.

The new AI Centre of Excellence will serve as a global innovation hub for HSBC, focusing on advanced capabilities in natural language processing, machine learning, data science, AI governance, and human-centred design. The centre will develop AI-powered solutions to enhance customer experiences, improve operational efficiency, and support business functions including personalised wealth management, digital payments, fraud detection, and treasury services.

Alongside the technology expansion, HSBC is strengthening its wealth management franchise by recruiting an additional 100 relationship managers and wealth professionals in Singapore. The move aligns with the bank’s long-term strategy of expanding its wealth business in Asia, where rising affluence and demand for financial advisory services continue to create significant growth opportunities.

The announcement reflects HSBC’s broader commitment to integrating artificial intelligence into its global operations while continuing to invest in high-skilled talent. By combining AI expertise with wealth management capabilities, the bank aims to drive innovation, improve customer outcomes, and reinforce Singapore’s role as a strategic hub for technology, banking, and financial services in the Asia-Pacific region.
