HDFC Life Insurance Company Limited has approved the reappointment of Vibha Padalkar as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for a period of five years, effective September 12, 2026.

The decision was taken by the Board of Directors on April 21, 2026, following the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. The reappointment is subject to approval from shareholders at the upcoming Annual General Meeting, as well as regulatory clearance from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).

Padalkar has been associated with HDFC Life since 2008 and has been a key part of its leadership team for nearly two decades. During her tenure, she has played a significant role in strengthening the company’s financial framework and driving sustainable growth.

She was instrumental in the successful listing of HDFC Life in 2017 and also led the company through one of the first merger and acquisition transactions in the Indian life insurance sector. Her leadership has been marked by a strong focus on financial discipline, operational efficiency, and long-term value creation.

A member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Padalkar has been widely recognised for her leadership. She has been featured among Fortune India’s “Most Powerful Women in Business” for five consecutive years from 2021 to 2025 and was named among Business World’s “Most Valuable CEOs” in 2022 and 2023.

The reappointment reflects the company’s emphasis on leadership continuity and stability as it navigates growth opportunities in the evolving insurance landscape.
