Share Titan Company has appointed Priya Mathilakath Pillai as Chief People Officer, effective April 1, 2027. The appointment marks an important leadership transition for the Tata Group company, with Pillai set to succeed Swadesh Behera, who will superannuate from Titan on March 31, 2027. Titan’s board approved the appointment at its meeting on August 7, 2026. Pillai currently leads the People Function for Retail, Corporate and Manufacturing at Titan. She has held senior HR leadership responsibilities at the company for more than a decade, giving her extensive experience of Titan’s workforce, businesses and organisational culture. Her professional career spans more than three decades across human resources, retail, FMCG and business management. Before her current role at Titan, she held positions at Mahindra Retail, Hindustan Unilever, Oriflame and Aviva Life Insurance, among others. Her experience combines HR leadership with a strong understanding of consumer-facing businesses and retail operations. Pillai has also played an important role in Titan’s workforce strategy. In 2023, she highlighted the company’s plans to add more than 3,000 employees over five years across areas including engineering, design, luxury, digital, data analytics, marketing and sales, while strengthening talent in emerging markets. As Chief People Officer, Pillai will take on the broader responsibility of shaping Titan’s people agenda as the company continues to expand its businesses across jewellery, watches, eyewear and other consumer categories. Her appointment also reflects Titan’s focus on leadership continuity and internal talent development as it enters its next phase of growth.
