Shiprocket Appoints Group CHRO Saumya K as Business Head of 10XPeople.Ai

Shiprocket has expanded the responsibilities of its Group Chief Human Resources Officer, Saumya K, by appointing her as Business Head of 10XPeople.Ai, the company’s AI-led HR technology platform.

Effective July 2026, the new assignment adds a business leadership dimension to Saumya’s existing group-wide HR responsibilities. She will now be responsible for driving the growth and commercial direction of 10XPeople.Ai while continuing to oversee Shiprocket’s people function.

From HR leadership to business ownership

The expanded role places Saumya in charge of both the people agenda and the business performance of 10XPeople.Ai.

As Business Head, she will work on the platform’s overall strategy, expansion plans, market development and execution. The role also comes with responsibility for the platform’s profit and loss, giving her direct accountability for its commercial performance.

10XPeople.Ai is positioned as an AI-native HR management platform designed to help organisations manage workforce-related processes through technology, automation and data-driven capabilities.

The move reflects Shiprocket’s broader approach of leveraging internal leadership talent for business-building opportunities, while bringing HR expertise closer to its technology and product ecosystem.

A leadership journey built within Shiprocket

Saumya has been part of Shiprocket’s leadership team since 2021. She joined the company as Senior Vice President and Head of HR in September that year.

Her responsibilities expanded in October 2023 when she was elevated to Group CHRO, taking charge of the people strategy across the wider Shiprocket group.

With the latest appointment, her role has evolved once again, combining group-level HR leadership with direct ownership of a technology business.

Two decades across people and organisational leadership

Saumya brings more than 21 years of professional experience across human resources, talent development, organisational transformation and business-focused people strategy.

She began her career with the Tata Group in 2005, working on areas including performance management and employee engagement. She subsequently moved across organisations including Perfetti Van Melle, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, Gap and Yum! Brands.

At Yum! Brands, she served as Associate Director – Talent, Learning and Rewards, while her earlier roles included leadership responsibilities in talent acquisition, HR business partnering and organisation development.

Her career has given her exposure to consumer businesses, retail, food services and large corporate environments, along with experience working through periods of organisational growth and transformation.

HR leadership meets HR technology

The latest move highlights an increasingly blurred line between people leadership and HR technology.
