OpenAI Appoints Prabhjeet Singh as Managing Director – India

OpenAI has appointed Prabhjeet Singh as Managing Director – India, underscoring the company’s commitment to expanding its presence in one of the world’s most dynamic artificial intelligence markets.

Singh joins OpenAI with an impressive leadership background spanning technology, mobility, consulting, and consumer businesses. Most recently, he served as President of Uber India & South Asia, where he led the company’s growth strategy across multiple markets and played a pivotal role in strengthening its mobility and platform businesses.

Prior to Uber, Singh held leadership roles at Meta and Google, contributing to business growth, digital transformation, and strategic partnerships. He also spent time at global consulting firm McKinsey & Company and began his career at Hindustan Unilever, giving him broad experience across strategy, operations, and market development.

In his new role, Singh will lead OpenAI’s business operations and strategic initiatives in India.
