Synchrony has appointed Apparna Madireddi as Vice President Human Resources, adding an experienced HR leader to its people leadership team. Madireddi brings a career spanning strategic HR partnering, organisational transformation, talent management, employee experience, culture and diversity, equity and inclusion.

Her appointment comes after a career across financial services, healthcare, professional services and technology-led organisations, where she has worked closely with business and executive leaders on people priorities linked to growth and transformation.

Bringing Business-Focused HR Experience to Synchrony

Before joining Synchrony, Madireddi was Senior Human Resources Business Partner and Site HR Leader at Principal Global Services, part of Principal Financial Group. In that role, she worked with business leadership on people strategies supporting organisational growth and transformation.

Her responsibilities covered areas including talent management, organisational design, change management, employer branding and the development of high-performance cultures. The role further strengthened her experience in connecting HR priorities with broader business objectives.

Experience Building HR Capabilities

Madireddi previously spent time with Providence India, where she was involved in establishing and developing the organisation’s HR function from its early stages in the country.

Working with both global and India-based leadership teams, she contributed to areas such as organisational effectiveness, performance management, employee experience, talent and DEI. Her work at Providence gave her exposure to the challenges of building people frameworks while an organisation evolves and scales.

That experience added another dimension to her HR career, combining strategic partnering with the development of people practices and organisational capabilities.

Leadership Exposure Across Consulting and Technology

Earlier in her career, Madireddi was part of Deloitte India (Offices of the US), where she partnered with senior leaders across emerging technology consulting businesses. Her work involved translating business priorities into talent, culture and leadership initiatives.

She also contributed to capability-building initiatives connected with mergers and acquisitions, along with enterprise-wide DEI programmes. The experience broadened her exposure to complex organisational environments and strengthened her work at the intersection of people and business strategy.

Her technology-sector experience extends further back to Cognizant, where she progressed through several responsibilities including HR Business Partner, Regional HR Business Partner and Staffing Manager. Her tenure also included an international assignment in the Netherlands, giving her experience working across different markets and organisational contexts.

A Career That Began in Recruitment

Madireddi began her professional journey with Randstad, working across recruitment and stakeholder management. Her early exposure to talent acquisition provided a foundation for the broader HR career that followed.

Over the years, her career has expanded from recruitment into strategic HR business partnering, leadership development, organisational effectiveness, employee experience and transformation. This progression has positioned her to work across both operational and strategic dimensions of the people function.

Madireddi holds a Master of Science in Psychology from Christ University, Bangalore, an academic background that complements her professional focus on people, behaviour, culture and organisational effectiveness.

A Broader People Mandate at Synchrony

At Synchrony, Madireddi takes on a senior HR leadership role that brings together the different strands of her career – from talent and HR partnering to organisational transformation, culture and employee experience.

Her experience working with business leaders across established organisations and growth environments is expected to be relevant to a role focused on aligning people priorities with organisational goals.

The appointment adds another senior HR leader with cross-industry experience to Synchrony’s people function, as organisations continue to place greater emphasis on talent, leadership, employee experience and organisational agility.

For Madireddi, the move marks the next stage of a career that has evolved from recruitment into a broad people leadership mandate spanning strategy, culture, talent and transformation.
