Share IndiGo has brought Sudeep Anurag into its people leadership team as Director – HR Analytics and Transformation, adding specialised expertise in workforce analytics, human capital strategy and organisational transformation. Based in Gurugram, Anurag has built his career at the intersection of human resources, analytics and consulting. His experience includes workforce planning, people analytics, HR data strategy, organisational change and the application of artificial intelligence to people-related functions. The appointment comes as large organisations increasingly use workforce data to inform decisions around talent, productivity, capability building and organisational design. From consulting to an airline workforce environment Anurag joins IndiGo’s parent company, InterGlobe Aviation, after spending four years with Deloitte. He most recently worked as an Associate Director at the consulting firm, where his work focused on human capital transformation and growth programmes. His responsibilities included developing people analytics initiatives, working on workforce planning, shaping HR data strategies and supporting operating model transformation. He also worked on applications of AI and generative AI within HR, giving him exposure to how emerging technologies can be incorporated into people processes and decision-making. Moving into IndiGo brings this consulting and transformation experience into the operating environment of one of India’s large-scale employers, where workforce planning and organisational capability are closely linked to business operations. Experience across analytics and human capital Anurag’s career has included roles with several major consulting and professional services organisations. Before Deloitte, he was part of Bain & Company’s Global People Analytics team. His work there covered areas such as employee engagement, workforce analytics, attrition analysis, diversity and inclusion metrics, employee surveys and workforce reporting. Earlier, he spent more than three years at Aon Hewitt, working across leadership development, employee engagement, HR dashboards, assessments and advanced analytics. His career began with Cognizant, where he worked in analytics roles and developed an early foundation in data-driven business analysis. The progression across these organisations has given Anurag experience spanning both the technical side of workforce analytics and the broader organisational questions that HR data can help address. Analytics moves closer to HR decision-making HR analytics has evolved from largely reporting employee information to becoming a tool for understanding workforce trends and supporting business decisions. Organisations can use workforce data to identify patterns in attrition, assess talent requirements, forecast staffing needs and understand employee engagement. Analytics can also support skills planning and help organisations identify capability gaps as business models change. For large employers, the value increasingly lies in connecting these insights with broader workforce strategy rather than treating analytics as a standalone HR activity. Anurag’s background across people analytics and transformation places these areas at the centre of his new mandate at IndiGo. AI adds another dimension to people transformation Artificial intelligence is also becoming part of the conversation around HR transformation, with organisations exploring applications ranging from workforce insights to automation and employee-facing tools. Anurag’s experience with AI and GenAI applications in HR at Deloitte adds another dimension to his background as IndiGo develops its data-led people capabilities. The focus is not limited to technology adoption. Effective HR transformation also requires changes in processes, operating models and the way workforce information is translated into business decisions. A data-led approach to workforce strategy At IndiGo, Anurag will be responsible for advancing HR analytics and transformation initiatives as the airline continues to develop its organisational capabilities. His mandate brings together several areas of expertise from his previous roles — workforce planning, analytics, HR data, organisational transformation and emerging technology. The appointment reflects the broader shift in enterprise HR functions towards more evidence-based workforce decisions. For organisations operating at scale, the ability to understand workforce patterns and translate those insights into action is becoming increasingly connected to long-term talent and business planning. With Anurag joining the team, IndiGo is adding dedicated leadership focused on bringing these capabilities together within its people function.
