Former Barclays HR Chief Arun Krishnamurthy Joins NIIF as CHRO

National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) has appointed Arun Krishnamurthy as its Chief Human Resources Officer, bringing on board a seasoned HR leader with extensive experience in leading people transformation across global organizations.

In his new role, Krishnamurthy will lead NIIF’s people strategy, overseeing talent management, leadership development, organizational capability, employee engagement, and culture. His appointment comes at a time when NIIF is expanding its investment platform and strengthening its institutional capabilities to support long-term growth.

Before joining NIIF, Krishnamurthy served as Managing Director and Head of Human Resources, India at Barclays, where he led the people agenda for one of the bank’s largest and most complex operations in the country. He was responsible for driving strategic HR initiatives, leadership capability, workforce transformation, and organizational effectiveness.

Earlier in his career, he held senior global HR leadership positions at Vodafone and Unilever, gaining deep expertise across financial services, telecommunications, and consumer goods. Over more than two decades, he has led large-scale business transformation, talent development, organizational design, succession planning, and leadership capability programs across multiple geographies.

NIIF, India’s sovereign-backed investment platform with the Government of India as its largest shareholder, continues to expand its investments across infrastructure and growth sectors. As the organization scales its operations and portfolio, strengthening leadership and organizational capability has become a key strategic priority.

With Arun Krishnamurthy joining as CHRO, NIIF aims to further strengthen its leadership pipeline, foster a high-performance culture, and build a future-ready workforce that supports its long-term investment and growth ambitions.
