Union Asset Management Company has appointed Rajkamal Tiwari as its interim Chief Executive Officer, effective August 11, 2026. He succeeds Madhukumar Nair and takes charge at a time when the asset management industry continues to evolve amid growing investor participation and increasing competition.

Tiwari moves into the CEO role after serving as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Union Asset Management Company. During his tenure, he has been involved in the company’s strategy, governance and operational functions, giving him extensive institutional knowledge of the organisation and its business.

With more than 26 years of experience across financial services and capital markets, Tiwari has held leadership positions spanning finance, operations and asset management. Before joining Union AMC, his professional experience included organisations such as Principal PNB AMC, Price Waterhouse and Deloitte Haskins & Sells. He is also a Chartered Accountant and holds qualifications including a Master in Business Finance, Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce.

The appointment is expected to provide continuity for Union Mutual Fund, as Tiwari is already familiar with the organisation’s operations, teams and strategic priorities. His experience across both financial and operational functions positions him to oversee the fund house’s business during the interim period.

Union Mutual Fund had average assets under management of approximately ₹28,540 crore as of July 2026. As the fund house continues its growth journey, Tiwari’s immediate mandate will be to maintain operational stability, strengthen execution and work closely with employees, partners and other stakeholders.
