Tata Communications Appoints Rupesh Chokshi as CTO, Names Vivek Srivastava to Lead Cloud & Cybersecurity

Tata Communications has appointed Rupesh Chokshi as Executive Vice President, Global Business Head – Network Services and Chief Technology Officer (CTO), while naming Vivek Srivastava as Executive Vice President and Business Head – Cloud and Cyber Security Services. Both executives will join the company’s Global Management Committee as it sharpens its focus on AI-led enterprise infrastructure and digital transformation.

As CTO, Rupesh Chokshi will lead Tata Communications’ global Network Services business, overseeing product strategy, AI-powered network innovation, and the expansion of the company’s global digital infrastructure. He succeeds Genius Wong, who recently stepped down after nearly two decades with the company.

Chokshi brings more than 25 years of experience across networking, cloud connectivity, cybersecurity, and enterprise infrastructure. Before joining Tata Communications, he served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Application Security at Akamai Technologies. Earlier, he held senior leadership roles at AT&T, where he led large-scale networking and infrastructure initiatives.

Vivek Srivastava will lead Tata Communications’ Cloud and Cyber Security Services business, driving growth across enterprise cloud solutions and cybersecurity offerings. He joins from Fortinet, where he served as Country Manager for India and the SAARC region. During his 27-year career, he has also held leadership positions at CrowdStrike, Cisco, and IBM, building deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.

The appointments come as enterprises worldwide increase investments in AI, cloud, and secure digital infrastructure. By strengthening its leadership across networking and cybersecurity, Tata Communications aims to accelerate innovation, expand its enterprise offerings, and reinforce its position as a global digital infrastructure provider for AI-powered businesses.
