Religare Housing Finance Appoints Pavan K. Gupta as MD & CEO

Religare Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (RHDFCL) has appointed Pavan K. Gupta as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2026, marking a significant leadership move as the company strengthens its position in India’s affordable housing finance market.

Gupta joins RHDFCL with more than three decades of experience across housing finance, mortgage lending, and financial services. Most recently, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Muthoot Housing Finance, where he successfully led business transformation, expanded assets under management, strengthened asset quality, improved profitability, and broadened the company’s branch network. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership positions at Dewan Housing Finance Limited (DHFL), Deutsche Postbank Home Finance, and BHW Birla Home Finance, gaining extensive expertise in lending, business expansion, and risk management.

As Managing Director and CEO, Gupta will lead RHDFCL’s next phase of growth with a focus on expanding its affordable housing loan portfolio, strengthening risk architecture, diversifying funding sources, and accelerating technology-driven transformation across loan origination, underwriting, collections, and customer service. His mandate also includes maintaining disciplined capital and asset-liability management while improving operational efficiency.

The appointment comes as Religare Housing Finance looks to scale its presence under the Burman Group’s ownership, with a strong emphasis on serving underserved and informal-sector customers through a customer-centric and technology-enabled housing finance model.

With Pavan K. Gupta at the helm, RHDFCL aims to build a stronger, more resilient housing finance franchise while expanding access to affordable home loans and driving sustainable long-term growth in one of India’s fastest-growing financial services segments.
