Instamart has partnered with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to launch India’s first on-demand LPG cylinder delivery service through a quick-commerce platform, marking a significant step in the evolution of digital convenience services.

The pilot service will initially be rolled out in Bengaluru, where customers can order HPCL’s newly introduced HP Navya 10 kg composite LPG cylinder as well as the existing 5 kg metal LPG cylinder directly through the Instamart app. Unlike traditional LPG services, customers do not need an existing domestic LPG connection to place an order, making the offering accessible to a wider consumer base.

Designed for students, working professionals, small families, and households seeking a convenient secondary cooking gas option, the HP Navya cylinder features a lightweight, corrosion-resistant composite design with a translucent body that allows users to monitor gas levels easily.

Orders placed through Instamart will be fulfilled by HPCL’s authorised distributor network, with trained personnel handling deliveries under established safety and regulatory guidelines. First-time purchases will require identity verification and proof-of-delivery documentation, while subsequent orders will be processed as refills with the return of the empty cylinder.

The partnership reflects the growing expansion of quick commerce beyond groceries into high-trust essential services. For Instamart, the move broadens its role in everyday household needs, while for HPCL, it creates a new digital distribution channel that enhances accessibility and customer convenience. The companies are expected to evaluate the Bengaluru pilot before expanding the service to additional cities across India.
