Flipkart has appointed senior HR leader Divya Srivastava as Head of Performance and Rewards, strengthening its people leadership team as the e-commerce company continues to focus on performance, employee recognition and talent development.

Srivastava brings nearly two decades of experience across human resources, rewards, people strategy and organisational leadership. Her appointment adds significant expertise to Flipkart’s people function, with her new mandate covering performance management and total rewards.

She joins the company after holding senior leadership positions at Unilever and GE Healthcare South Asia, bringing experience across consumer goods, healthcare and large-scale organisations.

Leading Flipkart’s Performance and Total Rewards Strategy

In her new role, Divya Srivastava will lead Flipkart’s Performance and Total Rewards charter.

The mandate is expected to focus on strengthening frameworks that connect employee performance, recognition and rewards with broader business priorities. As organisations continue to rethink how they attract and retain talent, performance and rewards functions are increasingly becoming central to workforce strategy.

For large and fast-growing businesses, these functions go beyond compensation alone. They play an important role in shaping employee motivation, career progression, recognition and overall workforce engagement.

Srivastava’s experience across rewards and people leadership is expected to support Flipkart’s efforts to further build a high-performance workplace culture.

Experience Across Unilever and GE Healthcare

Before joining Flipkart, Srivastava served as Head of Reward for Unilever in India and Asia.

In this role, she led reward and compensation strategies across the region while also contributing to broader people and inclusion priorities. Her experience gave her exposure to managing rewards frameworks across diverse markets and employee groups.

Prior to Unilever, she served as Chief Human Resources Officer at GE Healthcare South Asia, where she led key people, talent and organisational priorities for the healthcare business.

Her professional experience spans multiple industries, including:

  • Consumer goods
  • Healthcare
  • Technology
  • Human resources
  • Rewards and compensation
  • Talent management
  • Organisational leadership

This cross-sector experience brings together both specialist expertise in rewards and broader exposure to strategic HR leadership.

From Technology to Human Resources Leadership

Srivastava’s career began in the technology sector, where she worked as a Systems Engineer before transitioning into human resources.

She later pursued HR studies at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), graduating as a gold medallist. Since then, she has built her career across several people leadership roles, working with businesses at both regional and global levels.

Her journey reflects the increasingly multidisciplinary nature of modern HR leadership, where business understanding, technology exposure and people expertise are becoming important components of strategic workforce management.

Performance and Rewards Gain Greater Strategic Importance

The appointment comes at a time when companies are placing greater emphasis on how performance frameworks and reward strategies influence employee retention and business outcomes.

Traditional approaches centred primarily on annual appraisals and compensation are increasingly evolving. Companies are now exploring more continuous performance conversations, differentiated rewards, stronger recognition programmes and greater alignment between individual contribution and organisational goals.

For companies operating in highly competitive sectors such as e-commerce, building the right performance and rewards ecosystem can also play a significant role in attracting and retaining specialised talent.

With responsibility for these areas, Srivastava will be part of Flipkart’s broader effort to strengthen the connection between employee contribution, growth opportunities and recognition.

Strengthening Flipkart’s People Leadership

Divya Srivastava’s appointment adds another experienced HR leader to Flipkart’s leadership ecosystem.

Her background across Unilever’s rewards function and GE Healthcare South Asia’s people leadership team brings together expertise in compensation, performance, inclusion and organisational development.

As Flipkart continues to operate at scale in India’s fast-evolving e-commerce landscape, people strategy will remain closely linked to business performance and long-term growth.

The appointment signals continued focus on building a workforce environment where strong performance is recognised, employee development is encouraged and rewards strategies remain aligned with the changing expectations of talent and business.
