Share Deel has acquired AI cybersecurity company Clarity to strengthen identity security across the entire workforce lifecycle. The acquisition expands Deel’s capabilities beyond traditional recruitment checks by integrating AI-powered identity verification, deepfake detection, and fraud prevention into employee onboarding, IT access management, and ongoing workforce operations. As organisations increasingly adopt remote and distributed work models, the move aims to provide continuous protection against identity fraud and impersonation attacks. Clarity specialises in advanced identity verification technologies designed to detect fraudulent identities, AI-generated deepfakes, and other sophisticated cyber threats. According to Deel Co-founder and CEO Alex Bouaziz, organisations often verify employee identities during recruitment but rely on separate systems for onboarding, device provisioning, and workplace access, creating potential security gaps. By embedding Clarity’s technology across its platform, Deel intends to provide end-to-end identity assurance throughout the employee journey. The acquisition comes at a time when AI-enabled fraud is becoming an increasingly significant challenge for employers worldwide. Deel cited industry concerns around fake identities infiltrating organisations and highlighted Gartner’s projection that one in four candidate profiles globally could be fraudulent by 2028. The company believes continuous identity verification will become an essential component of modern workforce management as businesses expand globally and embrace remote work. As part of the transaction, Clarity’s leadership team, including CEO Michael Matias and CTO Ziv Isaiah, will join Deel to accelerate innovation in AI-driven identity security. The acquisition reinforces Deel’s broader strategy of combining global payroll, HR, compliance, IT, and security into a unified platform, enabling organisations to manage international workforces more securely while protecting against the evolving risks of AI-powered identity fraud.
