According to the company, Agarwal experienced uneasiness and was taken to a private hospital, where he later breathed his last. His passing has been described as a significant loss for the industry, given his pivotal role in building one of India’s most recognised snack brands. Agarwal founded Bikaji in 1993 and was instrumental in transforming it into a leading player in the ethnic snacks and sweets segment. Under his leadership, the company expanded its product portfolio to include bhujia, namkeen, packaged sweets, and ready-to-eat offerings, while building a strong distribution network across India and international markets. Bikaji Foods International operates in India’s fast-growing packaged foods sector, driven by rising urban consumption, premiumisation, and increasing demand for branded products. Over the years, the company has established a strong market position, competing with both legacy and emerging brands in the snacks and sweets category.
