Alvarez & Marsal has appointed Monika Arora as Managing Director in its Tax practice, reinforcing the firm’s capabilities in indirect taxation, trade advisory, and regulatory strategy.

Based in New Delhi, Arora will advise clients on indirect tax, cross-border trade, regulatory strategy, and business transformation, helping organizations navigate increasingly complex tax environments while supporting long-term business growth.

She joins Alvarez & Marsal with more than 24 years of experience in indirect taxation and regulatory consulting. Prior to this appointment, she spent over nine years at Deloitte, where she most recently served as Partner – Indirect Taxes. During her tenure, she advised multinational corporations and leading Indian enterprises on GST, customs, tax technology, compliance transformation, government incentives, litigation, and cross-border trade strategy. Earlier in her career, she also held senior leadership roles at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India and PwC, building deep expertise in indirect tax advisory and regulatory consulting.

Throughout her career, Arora has worked across sectors including manufacturing, FMCG, telecommunications, e-commerce, healthcare, and IT, leading large-scale tax transformation initiatives and helping organizations optimize compliance through digital solutions and process automation.

Her appointment comes as businesses face rapidly evolving tax regulations, increasing global trade complexities, and greater focus on technology-enabled compliance. Organizations are increasingly seeking strategic advisors who can combine regulatory expertise with commercial insights to drive sustainable growth.

With Monika Arora joining as Managing Director, Alvarez & Marsal continues to strengthen its Tax practice in India, expanding its ability to support clients with complex tax, regulatory, and business transformation challenges in an increasingly dynamic business environment.
