Share Wipro has appointed Dr. (H.C.) Anil Jain as Managing Partner and Head of its India Consulting Hub, while also bringing him onto the company’s Consulting Executive Committee. The leadership appointment comes as Wipro continues to build a consulting-led business model, with artificial intelligence and digital transformation becoming increasingly central to enterprise technology investments. Jain brings more than three decades of experience across consulting, strategy, technology, telecommunications, consumer businesses and operations. His career includes senior leadership assignments at Accenture and business roles across companies including Jio, Aircel, G4S India, Bharti Airtel and Electrolux Kelvinator. From Accenture to Wipro Jain joins Wipro following nearly seven years with Accenture, where he held multiple senior positions within the consulting organisation. Most recently, he served as Managing Director and CMT Market Lead for the Americas, alongside responsibilities for the Cross-Industry GCC Strategy & Consulting Global Network. His role involved driving market growth, revenue development and sales origination while working with a large consulting workforce. Earlier, Jain led industry strategy initiatives at Accenture, working across 19 industries and bringing together business strategy, technology and transformation capabilities. His consulting experience has given him exposure to large-scale transformation programmes and complex business challenges across sectors. A broader business leadership background Jain’s experience extends well beyond consulting. Before moving into senior consulting leadership, he held operational and commercial roles across the telecom, consumer and services sectors. At Jio, he served as Business Head for Jio Point and previously led national channel sales for the connectivity business. He also held national leadership positions at Aircel, covering prepaid sales and corporate marketing. At G4S India, Jain served as Director of Operations, overseeing a workforce of more than 100,000 people. Earlier assignments included leadership roles at Alghanim Industries, Bharti Airtel and Electrolux Kelvinator, where his responsibilities covered areas such as sales, marketing, product management and category leadership. This combination of consulting and operating experience gives Jain exposure to both strategic decision-making and business execution. Building the India consulting engine At Wipro, Jain’s mandate will centre on strengthening the company’s India Consulting Hub and connecting consulting expertise with its broader technology and AI capabilities. A key priority will be developing high-performing consulting talent while improving collaboration between teams operating across different markets. The role also places Jain at the centre of Wipro’s efforts to help clients navigate increasingly complex transformation agendas, where technology implementation alone is often accompanied by changes to operating models, processes and business strategy. AI reshapes the consulting opportunity The appointment comes at a time when generative AI and automation are changing the way enterprises approach transformation. For technology services companies, the opportunity is increasingly moving beyond traditional implementation work towards helping organisations identify where AI can create measurable business value and then integrate those capabilities into existing operations. Wipro has been positioning its consulting business around this convergence of strategy, technology and AI. Jain’s experience across these areas aligns with that direction. His new role will therefore involve more than expanding consulting capabilities. It will also require building stronger connections between business advisory, technology delivery and emerging AI solutions. An experienced leader for Wipro’s next phase Wipro currently has more than 240,000 employees and business partners across 65 countries, giving its consulting organisation a broad global platform from which to operate. Jain’s appointment adds a leader with experience spanning both consulting and corporate operations as Wipro continues to strengthen its position in an increasingly AI-driven technology services market. The focus now will be on scaling the India Consulting Hub, developing consulting talent and helping enterprises translate AI and digital investments into broader business transformation outcomes. With consulting becoming an increasingly important part of technology services, Jain’s appointment signals Wipro’s continued push towards a model where business strategy, technology and AI work together to drive enterprise growth.
