Tata Asset Management has elevated Anand Vardarajan as its Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, marking a significant leadership transition for one of India’s leading asset management companies.

Vardarajan succeeds Hemant Kumar and assumes the top role after serving as Chief Business Officer, where he was instrumental in strengthening the company’s distribution network, expanding market reach, and driving business growth. His appointment reflects Tata Asset Management’s commitment to promoting experienced internal leaders who have contributed significantly to the organization’s success.

With more than 25 years of experience in banking, wealth management, and asset management, Vardarajan brings deep industry expertise to his new role. Since joining Tata Asset Management over eight years ago, he has led several strategic initiatives focused on sales, distribution, customer engagement, and business expansion. Prior to joining the company, he held senior leadership positions at ICICI Prudential Asset Management, Standard Chartered Bank, and Citibank, gaining extensive experience across retail and institutional financial services.

As CEO & Managing Director, Vardarajan will be responsible for leading Tata Asset Management’s overall business strategy, driving innovation across investment solutions, strengthening customer relationships, and accelerating the company’s long-term growth in India’s rapidly expanding mutual fund industry.
