Velamakanni succeeds Sindhu Gangadharan, who completes her term as Chairperson in April 2026. He previously served as Vice Chairperson of Nasscom and has been part of its Executive Council for over six years, contributing to policy discussions and industry initiatives around emerging technologies. Alongside this transition, Kishor Patil has been appointed as Vice Chairperson, strengthening the leadership team of the industry body. Velamakanni is best known as the co-founder and Group CEO of Fractal, where he has played a pivotal role in building one of India’s leading artificial intelligence and decision sciences firms. Under his leadership, Fractal has expanded globally, delivering data-driven and machine learning solutions to enterprises across sectors including financial services, healthcare, retail and technology. His appointment comes at a time when the technology sector is witnessing accelerated adoption of AI, data platforms and digital transformation initiatives. Within Nasscom, Velamakanni has been closely involved in shaping conversations around innovation, AI adoption and the future of work.
