BigBasket is entering a new leadership era as cofounders Hari Menon and Vipul Parekh step away from day-to-day management responsibilities after helping build one of India’s most recognized online grocery platforms.

The founders will continue to remain associated with the company through board and mentorship roles, allowing them to contribute strategically while handing over operational leadership to a new generation of executives.

Taking charge as CEO is Amit Nanda, a seasoned e-commerce leader who previously spent nearly 12 years at Amazon India. His appointment signals BigBasket’s intent to strengthen execution and accelerate growth in an increasingly competitive digital commerce environment.

The transition comes at a crucial time for the company. India’s quick commerce sector has become one of the most fiercely contested segments in retail, with players competing aggressively on delivery speed, customer acquisition, assortment, and technology.
