Share Infrastructure and construction company VRC Group has appointed Dr Devender Sharma as Executive Director – Human Resources, reinforcing its leadership bench as it continues to expand its operations across India. Dr Sharma recently shared the update publicly, marking his transition into a role where he will oversee the company’s HR strategy, talent development initiatives and governance frameworks. His focus will be on aligning workforce planning with the organisation’s long-term growth and project execution needs. With over 30 years of experience in human resources, Dr Sharma brings deep expertise across sectors such as infrastructure, manufacturing and automotive. His career has been shaped by leading HR functions in complex, project-driven environments that require strong workforce management and structured organisational processes. Before joining VRC Group, he founded and led DeReCo Corp Private Limited, an HR consulting firm offering services in recruitment, staffing, training and business advisory. Through this venture, he worked with organisations across industries, helping them build scalable HR systems and improve talent outcomes. Over the years, Dr Sharma has held senior HR leadership roles in several established organisations. His experience includes positions at Okinawa Scooters & Motorcycles, BGCC Infra and Galfar Engineering, where he was involved in driving HR transformation initiatives, implementing performance management systems and strengthening organisational structures. Earlier in his career, he served as General Manager – HR at Ashok Leyland, where he managed HR operations for white-collar employees across multiple locations in India. He has also worked with companies such as Samsung Electronics, LML Limited, SICPA India and DSC Limited, gaining hands-on experience in areas like industrial relations, workforce planning and organisational development. Dr Sharma holds a doctorate in human resource management, and his work has largely focused on building performance-oriented cultures, designing talent frameworks and managing large-scale workforce environments. In his new role at VRC Group, he will be responsible for strengthening HR policies, overseeing recruitment and training, enhancing employee engagement and ensuring compliance with labour regulations. His leadership is expected to support the company in managing large and diverse workforces across multiple project sites. Founded in 1996, VRC Group operates in the infrastructure and construction space, specialising in civil and engineering projects. The company has developed expertise in areas such as refinery maintenance, process piping, catalytic systems and industrial repair work, executing projects for major energy sector clients across India. As infrastructure development gains momentum in the country, companies in the sector are increasingly focusing on building strong HR leadership to manage complex operations, regulatory requirements and workforce scalability. Dr Sharma’s appointment reflects VRC Group’s intent to strengthen its organisational capabilities and ensure that its people strategy keeps pace with its expanding business ambitions.
