Share Varroc Engineering has appointed Avijit Roy as Group Chief Human Resources Officer, effective April 10, 2026, as the company strengthens its leadership team to support global growth and organisational transformation. Roy will report to Arjun Jain, Whole-Time Director and CEO – Business I, and will lead the company’s HR strategy across India and international markets. His mandate includes enhancing organisational capability, fostering a high-performance culture, and driving talent transformation in a rapidly evolving mobility ecosystem. With over 27 years of experience across automotive and manufacturing sectors, Roy brings deep expertise in global HR leadership. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President – Global Human Resources at Aditya Birla Group, where he led HR for a multi-billion-dollar business spanning multiple geographies. During his tenure, he drove initiatives across organisational effectiveness, leadership development, and workforce planning, while also introducing AI-enabled capability-building frameworks and supporting post-merger cultural integration. Earlier in his career, Roy served as Regional HR Head for Asia, where he partnered with business leaders to drive transformation across diverse markets, including expansion into China and managing complex industrial relations environments. He has also held leadership roles at Hero Motors, Tesco, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Hindustan Unilever. Roy succeeds Kavita Kulkarni, who served as Group CHRO for seven years and played a key role in shaping the company’s people agenda. During her tenure, Kulkarni led initiatives around leadership development, talent pipelines, and workforce planning, helping build a resilient and globally aligned organisation. Commenting on the appointment, Arjun Jain highlighted Roy’s ability to build agile, future-ready organisations and align talent strategy with business priorities. He also acknowledged Kulkarni’s contributions in evolving Varroc into a people-first organisation.
