Share Uber has appointed Balaji Krishnamurthy as its Chief Financial Officer, effective February 2026, marking a key leadership elevation within the company’s finance function. The announcement was shared by Krishnamurthy through a LinkedIn post, signalling his transition into the top finance role after more than six years with the organisation. Krishnamurthy most recently served as Vice President, Strategic Finance & Investor Relations in San Francisco from January 2025 to February 2026. Prior to that, he held a series of senior finance leadership roles across Uber’s core business units, including VP, Strategic Finance – Mobility & Delivery (February 2024 to December 2024) and VP, Strategic Finance – Mobility (February 2023 to February 2024) in Toronto. Between December 2020 and June 2023, he led Investor Relations, following an earlier stint as Senior Manager, Investor Relations in San Francisco. His elevation reflects Uber’s continued emphasis on financial discipline, strategic capital allocation and transparent investor communication as it navigates a competitive and evolving global mobility and delivery landscape. Beyond Uber, Krishnamurthy has served as a Board Member at Waabi since September 2024, expanding his exposure to next-generation mobility innovation. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly eight years at Goldman Sachs as Vice President in Equity Research, covering US Hardware and Communications Technology. He also worked as a Research Analyst at Irevna, focusing on EMEA Petrochemicals, and began his professional journey in wealth management as Area Manager at iTrust Financial Advisors in Gurugram. Krishnamurthy’s appointment as CFO underscores Uber’s strategy of strengthening leadership from within, recognising executives who bring deep institutional knowledge, capital markets expertise and cross-functional financial acumen. As he steps into the role, he is expected to steer the company’s global financial strategy while supporting its next phase of disciplined growth and operational scalability.
