Beauty and lifestyle platform Nykaa has appointed Mitali Laungani as Assistant Vice President (AVP) – Brand Marketing & Communications, adding an experienced marketing professional to its brand leadership team.

In her new role, Laungani will contribute to shaping Nykaa’s brand narrative and integrated marketing initiatives, while supporting the company’s communication strategy as it strengthens its connection with consumers across beauty and lifestyle categories. Her responsibilities will also include helping drive storytelling-led campaigns and building stronger engagement across digital and offline channels as Nykaa continues to expand its omnichannel presence.

Strong background in marketing and digital content

Laungani brings extensive experience in brand marketing, social media strategy and content-driven growth, having worked across media, entertainment and consumer-focused organisations.

Before joining Nykaa, she served as Director – Marketing at JioHotstar from September 2022 to April 2025, where she played a role in marketing and brand-building initiatives within the large-scale digital entertainment ecosystem. Her work involved contributing to marketing strategies that supported content promotion and audience engagement across the platform.

Prior to that, Laungani spent more than four years at MX Player (now Amazon MX Player) as Lead – Social Media and Associate Director. In this position, she was responsible for shaping the platform’s social media strategy and strengthening engagement with digital audiences through culture-led campaigns and platform-first storytelling.

Experience across media, entertainment and agencies

Earlier in her career, Laungani worked with Chernin Asia Media as Senior Manager – Artist Alliance & Business Development between 2014 and 2018. In that role, she collaborated with prominent film personalities including Ranveer Singh, Ayushmann Khurrana, Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra, managing the development and growth of their social media presence. Her work involved building digital platforms for these artists while also identifying opportunities to monetise content and partnerships.

She began her professional journey on the agency side of the advertising industry. Laungani worked as a Senior Account Executive at Publicis Groupe, handling accounts such as Nerolac Paints and Ariisto Developers. Earlier, she was associated with Equus Red Cell, where she worked on brand mandates for organisations including Deutsche Bank, Taj Group of Hotels and Reliance Commercial Finance.

Supporting Nykaa’s brand growth

Laungani’s appointment comes as Nykaa continues to strengthen its brand positioning in India’s fast-growing beauty and lifestyle market. The company has been expanding its reach through a mix of online platforms, physical retail stores and content-driven consumer engagement, making brand storytelling and integrated marketing increasingly important to its growth strategy.

With her experience across digital entertainment, content strategy and brand marketing, Laungani is expected to contribute to enhancing Nykaa’s brand communication and consumer engagement initiatives, supporting the company’s ongoing expansion in the beauty and lifestyle space.
