Share Maninder Kapoor Puri has stepped down as Chief Human Resources Officer at Biocon and will take on the role of CHRO at Syngene International, marking a key leadership transition within the Biocon Group’s life sciences ecosystem. Puri confirmed the move through a LinkedIn post, reflecting on her nearly three-year tenure at Biocon, where she was part of the executive leadership team and led several strategic people and culture initiatives. During her time with the organisation, she played a critical role in aligning HR strategy with business priorities, while also driving efforts across diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement. At Syngene, she will oversee talent strategy for a workforce of more than 5,500 scientists and professionals, supporting the company’s research-driven operations and global growth ambitions. Her mandate will include strengthening organisational capability, building leadership depth, and fostering a high-performance, purpose-led culture. Puri emphasised that purpose lies at the core of Syngene’s work, highlighting the importance of people in driving scientific discovery and innovation. Her role is expected to focus on enabling scale, advancing talent development, and aligning people strategy with the company’s long-term vision. She brings over three decades of experience in human resources, organisational transformation, and talent strategy across large and complex global organisations. Prior to Biocon, she held senior leadership roles at companies such as Mastek, Firstsource, Accenture, and iGate. Her transition comes at a time when life sciences organisations are increasingly investing in specialised talent and people capabilities to support complex research, innovation pipelines, and global delivery models.
