Share InterGlobe Aviation, the parent company of IndiGo, has appointed Aloke Singh as Chief Strategy Officer, effective April 6, 2026, marking a significant leadership addition during a period of transition for the airline. In his new role, Singh will be responsible for driving long-term strategic planning and leading enterprise-wide transformation initiatives, with a focus on accelerating growth, improving operational efficiency and strengthening the airline’s competitive positioning. The appointment comes at a time when IndiGo is undergoing a leadership transition, following the recent exit of its CEO. The company is currently being overseen by its leadership team while it searches for a new chief executive. Singh brings over three decades of experience in the aviation industry, with a strong background across strategy, operations, planning and commercial functions. Most recently, he served as Managing Director and CEO of Air India Express, where he played a key role in steering the airline’s operational and strategic direction. Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles at Air India and Oman Air, building deep expertise across different facets of the aviation ecosystem. At IndiGo, he will initially report to the company’s leadership, and will later align with the incoming CEO once the transition is complete. His appointment is seen as a move to bring in experienced strategic leadership at a time when the airline is preparing for its next phase of growth. The timing is particularly crucial as the airline continues to navigate operational challenges and evolving market dynamics, including recent disruptions that impacted flight operations and drew regulatory attention. With Singh’s appointment, IndiGo aims to strengthen its strategic direction, enhance operational resilience and drive transformation at scale, positioning itself for sustained growth in an increasingly competitive aviation landscape. This move underscores the airline’s focus on bringing in seasoned leadership to stabilize operations and build a future-ready, growth-oriented organization.
