Hindusthan National Glass & Industries Limited (HNGIL) has appointed Bharathi Mangaiahgari as Chief Human Resources Officer, strengthening its leadership team as the company advances its transformation journey.

The appointment comes at a pivotal time for HNGIL, which is undergoing a broader organisational overhaul following its acquisition by Independent Sugar Corporation Ltd, part of the Uganda-based Madhvani-Turner Group, through the insolvency process in September 2025. Since then, the company has been focusing on plant modernisation, improving operational efficiency, and expanding its presence in domestic and international markets.

In her new role, Mangaiahgari will work closely with senior leadership to drive people strategy, workforce planning, and organisational effectiveness. Her mandate will include building high-performance teams and supporting HR transformation initiatives aligned with the company’s growth and restructuring plans.

Mangaiahgari brings close to three decades of experience across diverse sectors, including manufacturing, technology, infrastructure, renewables, pharmaceuticals, and engineering procurement and construction (EPC). She has held leadership roles with organisations such as Mahathi Infra Services and Patil Rail Infrastructure, where she led large-scale HR operations, compliance, governance, and digitisation initiatives.

Her international exposure spans assignments across the United States, the United Kingdom, Israel, and Malaysia, where she worked on integrating HR processes across geographies, implementing digital HR systems, and building leadership pipelines.

Founded in 1946, HNGIL operates in the container glass segment with manufacturing facilities across multiple locations in India, including Rishra, Bahadurgarh, Rishikesh, Neemrana, Naidupeta, and Puducherry. The company serves customers in over 23 countries and has played a pioneering role in establishing India’s first fully automated glass manufacturing plant.

Mangaiahgari’s appointment reflects HNGIL’s focus on strengthening its people capabilities and leadership depth as it navigates its next phase of growth and transformation.
