Share Gillette India Pvt. Ltd. has appointed Rohini Laya Venkateswaran as Executive Director, strengthening its leadership team with an experienced executive who has spent more than two decades building brands and driving growth across global markets. Venkateswaran currently also serves as Chief Sales Officer for India at Procter & Gamble, where she has been leading the company’s sales operations and commercial strategy across the country. Her appointment to the board of Gillette India reflects her deep expertise in sales leadership, market strategy, and brand development within the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector. She has been associated with Procter & Gamble for over 20 years, during which she has held multiple leadership roles across geographies and business functions. Throughout her tenure, she has worked across sales strategy, marketing leadership, retail partnerships, and commercial planning, contributing to the growth of several major consumer brands. Before becoming Chief Sales Officer for India in 2025, Venkateswaran served as Vice President and Country Manager for the East Gulf region, overseeing markets such as Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, and Qatar, while also leading sales strategy across the Gulf region, including the UAE. In this role, she managed regional growth initiatives and helped strengthen the company’s presence in key international markets. Earlier in her career, she held leadership positions focused on sales strategy and brand marketing in India, including roles overseeing brands such as Olay and Old Spice. During this period, she worked on initiatives aimed at strengthening brand performance through integrated marketing strategies, digital outreach, and new consumer engagement approaches. Her experience also includes leadership in commercial strategy and planning for the Indian subcontinent, where she helped reshape go-to-market approaches to drive both revenue growth and improved profitability across product categories such as skin care, personal care, and home care. Venkateswaran has also played a key role in developing modern retail and e-commerce channels for the company during their early growth phase in India. In addition to managing partnerships with large retail chains, she led teams focused on using data, consumer insights, and digital capabilities to strengthen the company’s retail execution. Earlier in her career, she held roles across regional sales leadership, key account management, and trade marketing, including working with global retail partners such as Walmart. She also spent time in the United States working with P&G’s Walmart International team, supporting business operations across markets including South Africa, the United Kingdom, Mexico, China, and India. With extensive experience across global markets, sales transformation, and brand leadership, Venkateswaran’s appointment as Executive Director is expected to further strengthen Gillette India’s strategic leadership and business growth initiatives. Her background in leading diverse teams and driving innovation across distribution channels positions her well to support the company’s long-term expansion in India’s competitive FMCG sector.
