DS Group Names Subrat Chakravarty as CHRO and Head of Business Excellence

DS Group has announced the appointment of Subrat Chakravarty as its Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and Head of Business Excellence, assigning him a dual mandate to steer both the group’s people strategy and enterprise-wide transformation initiatives. This newly created role underscores the conglomerate’s commitment to aligning talent management with operational excellence as it pursues long-term growth. In his expanded role, Chakravarty will oversee the group’s human capital priorities while leading process transformation, capability building, and performance improvement initiatives across DS Group’s diverse business portfolio. His responsibilities will focus on creating synergies between people leadership and operational efficiency, supporting the organization’s strategic vision and productivity goals. 

A seasoned HR executive with over 30 years of cross-industry experience, Chakravarty joins DS Group from HCLTech, where he spent more than a decade in global HR leadership roles. During his tenure, he headed HR for Europe and Africa and led large-scale HR process and technology transformations spanning 30+ countries. Prior to HCLTech, he served as Chief People Officer at Birlasoft and held senior leadership roles across consulting, aviation, manufacturing, and IT services. Industry experts view this appointment as a strategic move reflecting DS Group’s intent to integrate people strategy with enterprise performance and governance frameworks. By bringing together HR leadership and business excellence under one mandate, the group aims to drive organizational transformation while nurturing talent and fostering high-performance culture.
