In her new position, Shah will operate from the London area and take responsibility for overseeing the organisation’s global talent acquisition strategy while advancing its skills-focused workforce initiatives. Before joining Barclays, Shah held a senior leadership role at Standard Chartered Bank, where she served as Managing Director, Global Resourcing & Talent Deployment. During her tenure of more than three years, she led initiatives covering global hiring, talent mobility and workforce planning across the multinational banking group. Her work at Standard Chartered included overseeing employer branding initiatives, executive recruitment and talent deployment strategies, as well as integrating technology-driven approaches to support more data-informed talent decisions and workforce capability planning. Earlier in her career, Shah built extensive experience leading talent functions within large global organisations across financial services, manufacturing and healthcare sectors. At GE HealthCare, she served as Director, Global Talent Acquisition & Candidate Experience, where she led global hiring programmes and initiatives designed to enhance the recruitment journey for candidates across multiple markets. Prior to that, she held senior HR leadership roles at Rolls-Royce, including HR Director for Talent Management & Acquisition and Global Head of Talent Acquisition. In these roles, she helped design and execute recruitment strategies supporting the company’s large-scale engineering and technical workforce across international markets. Shah also spent time at Aviva as Global Talent Acquisition Director, leading hiring strategies and recruitment frameworks for the multinational insurance company. Earlier in her career, she gained substantial experience within the GE and GE Capital ecosystem, where she managed regional and global resourcing initiatives. These roles involved leading multi-country recruitment programmes, supporting banking operations and managing executive-level hiring across Europe and other international markets. Across her professional journey, Shah has developed deep expertise in global hiring strategy, leadership recruitment, employer branding, talent mobility and skills-based workforce planning. Her move to Barclays brings together decades of experience across multinational corporations and global banks, positioning her to play a key role in shaping the organisation’s future talent strategy.
