Akasa Air has announced that its co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer Praveen Iyer will exit the airline at the end of April, marking another senior-level transition for the fast-growing carrier. Iyer becomes the second co-founder to move on from the organisation. The development follows the departure of Neelu Khatri, who stepped down in October 2025 from her position as Senior Vice President of International Operations. Khatri was part of the airline’s founding leadership and played an important role in shaping its early global network and overseas expansion strategy.

Through 2025, the airline witnessed a series of changes across its senior management ranks. In June, Ajit Bhagchandani, Vice President of In-Flight Services, resigned citing personal reasons. Earlier in May, Rishabh Dev, who led long-term operations, strategy, excellence and planning, also moved on, along with Amol Mane, Vice President for Aircraft Acquisition and Leasing. Around the same period, Vineet Mishra, Deputy General Manager for Catering, left to join another airline.

Commenting on his decision, Iyer expressed confidence in the company’s trajectory. He noted that the airline is well prepared for its next chapter and extended his best wishes to the leadership team and employees for continued success. The airline said Iyer will work closely with the management to ensure an orderly transition until April 30.

Alongside the announcement, the carrier confirmed that co-founder and Chief Information Officer Anand Srinivasan will assume the responsibilities of Chief Commercial Officer. Srinivasan said the airline has been built on a clear purpose, robust fundamentals and a strong team, and he aims to build further on the commercial base already established. The leadership update comes at a time when the airline continues to sharpen its focus on scale, network growth and operational stability amid intensifying competition in the aviation market.
