Share Adani Group has announced a major investment of ₹33,081 crore in Odisha, spanning three large-scale infrastructure projects aimed at driving industrial growth, strengthening energy capacity, and generating employment across the region. The announcement was made by Karan Adani, Managing Director of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone, during an industrial event, underlining the group’s long-term commitment to the state’s development. The investment will be deployed across three key projects. The first is a ₹800 crore data centre in Bhubaneswar, which is expected to support the digital economy and create around 200 jobs. The second, and largest, is a ₹30,181 crore thermal power plant near Cuttack, projected to generate approximately 7,000 jobs while strengthening power supply for industries and households. The third project is a ₹2,100 crore cement manufacturing unit in the same region, expected to create around 2,500 jobs and contribute to infrastructure development. Collectively, these projects are expected to generate nearly 9,700 employment opportunities, reinforcing Odisha’s position as an emerging industrial and economic hub. Speaking at the event, Karan Adani emphasised that the investment reflects strong confidence in Odisha’s growth trajectory. He noted that the state is already playing a key role in India’s economic future, supported by its resource base, workforce, and improving governance framework. He further highlighted that the Adani Group sees itself not just as an investor but as a long-term partner in Odisha’s development journey, contributing to large-scale infrastructure creation and economic progress. The announcement comes at a time when states across India are competing to attract large industrial investments, with a growing focus on infrastructure, energy security, and digital capabilities. For Odisha, the scale and diversity of these projects are expected to accelerate industrialisation, enhance energy resilience, and strengthen its role in India’s next phase of growth.
