Accor has appointed Amit Malik as Vice President – People & Culture for South Asia, strengthening its leadership team as it continues to expand its presence across the region.

In his new role, Malik will lead the people, talent, and culture agenda across India and South Asia, working closely with business leaders to build stronger organisational capabilities, enhance leadership effectiveness, and elevate the overall employee experience.

With over two decades of experience, Malik brings a strong mix of HR expertise and business leadership, having worked across industries and global markets. His experience spans organisational transformation, leadership development, talent strategy, and governance, making him well-positioned to support Accor’s next phase of growth in the region.

Prior to joining Accor, he served as President for Japan, Asia Pacific and Australia at WadzPay. He also spent a significant part of his career at Aviva Life Insurance India, where he held multiple leadership roles including Chief People Officer and later Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, gaining deep experience in both HR and business leadership.

His career also includes leadership stints at global organisations such as Bank of America, Royal Bank of Scotland, American Express, and GSK Consumer Healthcare, where he contributed to large-scale people initiatives and organisational effectiveness programs.

At Accor, Malik is expected to focus on building a high-performance culture, strengthening leadership pipelines, and aligning talent strategy with business growth, particularly as the hospitality sector continues to evolve with changing customer expectations and workforce dynamics.

His appointment reflects the increasing importance of people leadership in driving business transformation, especially in sectors like hospitality where employee experience and service quality are closely linked.

As Accor expands its footprint in South Asia, the emphasis on culture, capability building, and future-ready talent is expected to remain central to its long-term strategy.
