Luminous Appoints Vivek Abrol as MD & CEO to Drive Sustainable Growth

Luminous Power Technologies has appointed Vivek Abrol as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 19, 2026. The leadership transition comes at a pivotal moment for the company as it advances its ambition to become an integrated consumer energy fulfilment platform. 

Abrol brings more than 25 years of leadership experience spanning FMCG, electricals and consumer businesses, with a track record of scaling brands, driving innovation and shaping organisational transformation. His portfolio includes roles focused on growing high-impact product lines, expanding distribution networks and building customer-first strategies in competitive segments. 

In his new role, Abrol will oversee the strengthening of Luminous’ core presence in inverters and batteries while deepening investments in solar and sustainable energy solutions. Digitalisation, operational excellence and product innovation are expected to be central pillars as the company aligns to shifting consumer demand, rising electrification needs and India’s renewable energy momentum. 

The appointment follows the transition of outgoing CEO Preeti Bajaj to Schneider Electric, where she will serve as Executive Vice President – Global Home Solutions. Bajaj is credited with helping scale Luminous’ solar portfolio and advancing customer-centric growth during her tenure. 

With electrification, decentralised infrastructure and energy reliability shaping India’s next decade, Luminous is positioning itself to play a broader ecosystem role. Abrol’s arrival signals continuity in that direction, reinforcing the company’s intent to expand its impact in a clean, reliable and digitally enabled energy landscape.
